Dr. Gupta is a graduate of the University of New Delhi Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India. He has completed his residency at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals, Detroit and had a Rotating Internship at the Grand Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Gupta also has memberships in: Fellow of American College of Surgeons, Fellow of International College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Surgeons, (S.A.G.E.), Mid-West Surgical Associates, American Society of General Surgeons, and Wayne State Medical Society.
